In-office whitening may cause postoperative sensitivity, which can be treated with an OTC pain reliever (Advil/Tylenol), sensitivity relief gel and sugarless gum to reduce the peroxide levels.
Please exercise the following precautions for 48 hours after the whitening procedure:

- Avoid any dark or yellow staining substance: coffee/tea, tobacco products, red wine, spaghetti sauce, dark sauces, mustard/ketchup, colored lipstick, etc.
- Do not use any colored toothpastes or gels.
- Discontinue use of Perio Rx or Chlorhexidine if it is part of your oral hygiene routine.

Using a power toothbrush at least twice daily, flossing daily and maintaining your recall hygiene appointments will help keep your smile its brightest! Touch-up kits included with your ZOOM! In-Office Whitening may be used a few times every six months to maintain your bleaching shade.
Please remember that old fillings and crowns will not whiten. Old restorations may be replaced with new ones to enhance your new bright smile!
