Dr. Yen Nguyen

Patients all welcome Dr. Nguyens’ small, gentle hands! She was born in Illinois and has a Vietnamese-French background. When she is not busy working on patients or learning the latest techniques in dentistry, Dr. Nguyen enjoys attending sporting events and watching Gator football. She loves to cook and try new foods. She likes to stay active through working out, yoga and spinning. Dr. Nguyen also spends a lot of time traveling and visiting friends throughout the country.

Education

Yen Nguyen, D.M.D., attended the University of North Florida, where she graduated from the honors program with a Bachelors in Health Administration. Dr. Nguyen earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Florida. During her dental education, she served as president of the Dental Ambassadors and worked as a teaching assistant in the Prosthodontic Department and as a student clinician in the Emergency Dental Clinic. She was awarded the Golden Forceps award during her senior year.

In her relentless effort to provide the best quality dental care to her patients, she continuously hones her skills by investing many hours in continuing dental educational courses and by attending dental conventions across the country. She makes it a top priority to stay up to date on the latest materials and technologies in dentistry. Dr. Nguyen is an active member in the following professional organizations:

The Creating Smiles Staff

Crystal

Bringing over 4 years experience in Dental Practice Management, our Office Manager, Crystal, is responsible for the day to day operations of Creating Smiles. She’s the smiling face you see as you walk in, and the pleasant voice you speak to on the phone. Our patients also know her as the “Insurance Hero,” in their corner ensuring they get the most out of their insurance coverage. She firmly believes that dentistry is about relationships, and not the “wait-in-line” or “take-a-number” corporate business that seem to be popping up everywhere.

Crystal comes to Tampa by way of Calabasas, CA. When not making the world a brighter place, one healthy tooth at a time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and 3 poofy ragdoll kittens.

Racquel

Racquel is as sweet as her smile! She was born in Lynnwood, Calif., and has lived in Florida for the past 12 years. She graduated from Freedom High School and attended Erwin Technical Institute.

Racquel enjoys swimming and volleyball. She is also heavily involved in church and community activities in her spare time. Her favorite foods are pasta and cookies.

Daniela

Our lead dental assistant, Daniela, is also known as the one who can do it all! Daniela was born in Portugal and has lived in Florida for 18 years. She attended Concorde College and has been in the dental field since graduation.

Daniela has been married to George since 2006, and they welcomed their first child in November 2008. Outside of the office, Daniela spends her time devoting herself to her family and friends. Daniela enjoys shopping, dancing and relaxing by the pool.

Fiona

Born on the beautiful island of Barbados, but raised in the Virgin Islands, Fiona has made Tampa her home away from home. Having been in the dental field ever since 2000, her strong passion for dentistry is evident in her work. If you enjoy a thorough cleaning with friendly service, this is the hygienist for you.

Also known as our Periodontal Princess, Fiona enjoys reading, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her boys.
